4K TV Prices Tipped To Drop By 10%.

Chinese brands such as TCL and Hisense are set to drive down the price of 4K TV's in an effort to generate sales later this year, the move could force brands such as Sony, LG and Samsung to follow their lead.

4K TV Prices Tipped To Drop By 10%.

According to sources in China the major Chinese brands that are also manufacturing 4K TV's Japanesese and Korean TV Companies are set to drop pricing by 10% for new Ultra HD TVs released in 2014.

In 2013 Ultra HD TV pricing in China was about 1.2-1.5 times that of LCD TVs. China's TV vendors now want to further push the technology in the market and reportedly have plans to drop pricing on average by about 10% for units released in 2014 according to DigiTimes. 

The drop is expected to come on top of recent price drops for units released in 2013.

The penetration rate of Ultra HD TVs in Australia during 2014 is expected to reach around 18% of all sales of TV's.
