The modern Blu-ray player needs to do more than just play discs to make a name for itself in the current market. In fact a premium model needs to be a 'one-stop-shop' entertainment centre to even make a ripple. This impressive unit from Panasonic manages to pack everything you will ever need into one good-looking package.

Best Blu-Ray Player: Panasonic DMR-BWT835
The top-shelf Panasonic DMR-BWT835 Blu-ray recorder/player has got a lot going for it but one of the biggest selling points would have to be the whopping 1-Terrabyte memory capacity that allows you to store 600 hours of full HD recordings!

Complementing that are twin tuners, a USB port for external storage (if you need it), plus built in Wi-Fi and access to ABC iView, YouTube, Skype, Facebook and Twitter applications.
For your own movies shot to SD card, these can be transferred to the hard disk for permanent storage and playback, as can still images. You can even convert 2D DVDs and Blu-ray discs to 3D with natural depth perception.

An App is available for both Apple iOS and Android devices letting you control the BWT835 from your smartphone, and a remote-recording service EPG is supplied.

All this is wrapped in a good-looking silver casing with a front mount digital display. It isn't hard to understand why this model is collecting the accolades.
