Best TV Over 75": LG 84" Ultra HD LED LCD TV

By David Richards | Monday | 06/01/2014

LG's 84-inch 3D Ultra HD TV was the display screen that heralded a new era for the Australian TV industry. It was big, but above all, it was the first ever Ultra HD TV to be introduced late in 2012.

There is nothing average about this beast, which will set you back $15,000.
What you get is a big TV, a stunning display screen and future proofing with the introduction of Ultra High Definition TV technology delivering a 3840 X 2160 pixels, 24p image to the screen.

At the back are four HDMI slots and three USB ports, along with the usual array of LAN and other options. One of the standout features is the upscaler that allows 1080p content to be up scaled for viewing on this monster TV.

To improve the appearance of 720p, 1080i, and 1080p high-definition content on a Ultra High Definition screen, LG uses a multi-stage upscaling technology called Resolution Upscaler Plus to enhance picture detail.

While watching Full HD 3D content, the additional pixels of Ultra HD deliver
an enhanced Full HD 3D viewing experience. This improves the look of passive 3D when compared to Full HD TVs, and creates a cinema-like experience with LG's comfortable and flicker-free 3D glasses.

The TV has a 200Hz Screen Refresh Rate with scanning LED backlight for a bright viewing experience with minimised motion blur.

This truly impressive TV also has an inbuilt 50W 2.2-speaker system - featuring two impressive 15W woofers for extra grunt and full range (or balanced) sound.
