Surround Sound with a Twist

By Oonagh Reidy | Monday | 05/08/2013

AudioXperts, the new luxury US audio brand, has released the innovative 4TV 2112 Virtual Surround Sound Console, a high performance entertainment unit that sits comfortably under your flat panel TV.

Unlike a sound bar or any other regular system, the 4TV 2112 swivels to suit all your viewing needs. The high performance 2.1 channel music and surround sound system has a built-in subwoofer (with the equivalent bass output of a separate 8"
powered subwoofer), a touch control panel, Dolby Digital and DTS decoding for excellent sound from your TV, cable box
or gaming console.

4TV has a powerful 350 W peak/200 W RMS system, dual 20mm dome tweeter, four 4.5" long throw woofers and builtin subwoofer for deep bass sound.

The home entertainment console provides "amazing component-level audio performance," say its makers, and is designed to fit directly under a flat panel TV or on top of a furniture cabinet below a wall hung TV set.

Unlike conventional surround sound systems fixed into place, the 4TV's built-in swivel base (64 x1022 x 438mm) lets users rotate the console and television to the preferred listening or viewing angle, handy if you have a large or versatile space. The unit features backlit top-mounted, touch-sensitive controls, "learns" existing remotes, and even has a proximity sensor that auto detects when a person is near, instantly lighting up to show the system's status. The home entertainment system features patent- pending H.A.R.T (High Aspect Ratio Transducer) driver technology that allows the use of a large voice coil for high power handling in a high aspect ratio design. These new drivers mean the height of the 4TV consoles is just 51mm.

It also has wireless connectivity to all popular music sources, Bluetooth with Apt-x, USB Audio, Apple AirPlay when connected via Apple Airport Express, and incorporates the CSR aptXcodec for full bandwidth performance. It has a 3.5mm Mini-Stereo jack and a USB port allowing for Apple Audio capability, meaning Apple iPod, iPhone and iPad can be connected to the 2112 using a standard Apple lead for top quality audio reproduction through the 4TV.

The 4TV can easily switch between a number of listening modes for movies and music. Movie mode provides listeners with a full and realistic surround sound experience. For people who may experience sensor neural hearing loss, 4TV's Enhanced- Dialogue listening mode offers a separate equalisation setting that the AudioXperts engineering team has developed using data derived from the U.S. Hearing Journal Research.

"Because of its unique industrial design, 4TV will naturally catch the attention of anyone with a sense of style, however, what will really capture their attention is the amazing performance of this system," says Robert Costello, General Manager of Marketing and Sales for Canohm, which is distributing AudioXperts in Australia.

The 4TV 2112 will be available through leading home theatre and home entertainment retailers and specialist dealers with a RRP of $1,999.00.
