HTC One To Battle Samsung S4 This Week As Cheap One Emerges

A major smartphone battle is set to kick off this week with HTC launching their slick new HTC One Android smartphone on the same day that Samsung plans to launch their Galaxy S4.

HTC One To Battle Samsung S4 This Week As Cheap One Emerges

The HTC One will be available via Telstra, Vodafone and Optus on Tuesday and is tipped to be a big seller after getting favourable reviews from journalists around the world. CNet, SmartHouse and Trusted Reviews all gave the device five out of five.

Launched in the USA on Friday night with an exclusive concert produced by Live Nation with performances by Pharrell in New York, HTC is set to promote the device at Cinema chains in Australia backed by extensive TV advertising. 

There is also speculation that HTC is set to launch a budget version of the HTC One in June. It is not known what will be stripped from the device but it is known that that the metal alloy body will stay. During the past month HTC has struggled to manufacture the all alloy body 

Called the HTC M4 the budget smartphone is expected to feature the same Ultrapixel camera as the HTC One. It will be powered by a1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, with 16GB storage, and 1GB of RAM and come with a 4.3-inch 720p HD display.  It will also have HTC's Sense 5 UI installed on top of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
