However, a local HTC spokesperson would not confirm definite information on One availability here, when contacted by SmartHouse.

The smartphone has been subject to delays due to lack of component supplies at the ready.

"HTC has seen unprecedented demand for and interest in the new HTC One, and the care taken to design and build it is evidenced in early reviews," the Taiwanese maker said in a statement.

"The new HTC One will roll out in the UK, Germany and Taiwan next week and across Europe, North America and most of Asia-Pacific before the end of April."

HTC says "we appreciate our customers' patience, and believe that once they have the phone in their hands they will agree that it has been worth the wait."

Unveiled in Australia in late February, One running Android Jelly Bean is a stunning smartphone, with 4.7" Full HD (1080p) screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 1.7GHz quad-core processor, amazing Zoe camera, and One, which HTC promises will 'disrupt' the market.

We believe the Android smartie will be one of the best we'll see this year.

But it needs to go on sale asap before its too late, as rival Samsung Galaxy S 4 hits town.
