Its A1! Acer Cheap-AS-Chips Tab $150

By Oonagh Reidy | Wednesday | 08/01/2014

Acer declares tablet price war as $150 Android tab revealed at CES 2014

Acer Iconia A1-830 boasts a 7.9" screen high-resolution display. At US$150, Acer price war on Android tablets has raised the bar for value for money on Google-based devices.

Under the A1's silver metal back, is an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 32GB) and Full HD rear camera. The A1 Iconia runs on Android 4.2.1 Jellybean.

A1-830's battery life of up to 7.5 hours on a single charge.

Priced at just US$150, lets hope this A1 tab is making its way down under. And at a similar price.

At the moment, Acer are saying it will be sold in the US.

No word from Acer's local people yet.

Moving up the scale is 8" Acer Iconia W4 tablet for A$499 - making this Windows 8.1 tablet an affordable gem, and good for work or school. It features an 8-inch HD Display with IPS and Zero Air Gap technologies.

It has a 4th Generation Intel Atom 1.8 GHz processor, 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, 2MP 1080P front camera, and a 5 MP rear camera with autofocus that supports 720p/1080p at 60 FPS/30 FPS respectively, and also has Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 pre-installed.

Acer are promising battery life of up to 10 hours for web browsing and up to 8 hours for video play back.

Acer Oz have confirmed local pricing $499.

There is also an optional ultra-slim keyboard.
