Microsoft will roll out a Windows Blue upgrade with the US company set to reveal what the new upgrades will include on June 26.

Described as Windows 8.1, the update will be free to Windows 8 and RT owners and will be available via the Microsoft Store sometime later this year.

The news was released by Tami Reller, Microsoft's chief marketing officer and chief financial officer of the Windows division, at the JP Morgan Technology, Media & Telecom Conference being held here.

Reller did not offer any details on what the update will contain.
