Fujifilm X-E2: "World's Fastest AF speed"

By Oonagh Reidy | Monday | 21/10/2013

Camera season is upon us with newbies from Panasonic, Nikon and Sony.

Fujifilm has thrown its hat into the ring, too, coming up with a premium interchangeable lens camera 16.3MP with "the world's fastest AF speed".

The premium interchangeable lens camera original colour filter array, EXR Processor II, and APS-C X-Trans CMOS II sensor.

Fujifilm X-E2 is comparable to full-frame cameras that takes the image quality to a dynamic new level, with the world's fastest AF speed of 0.08 seconds, say its makers.

The new cam also has inbuilt WiFi, and a handy button on top to add images instantly to Facebook and Instagram.

The Fujifilm X-E2 camera is available in a kit complete with Fujinon XF18-55mm lens, RRP $1,899 from November. It comes in solid black or two-tone black and silver.

Building on the award-winning X-E1, the X-E2 delivers better colour reproduction and higher definition images - the 16.3MP APS-C sized X-Trans CMOS II sensor captures unfiltered light for excellent image clarity.

It controls moire and false colour generation by using an original colour filter array with a highly randomised pixel arrangement.

X-E2 also has a start-up of 0.5 seconds, virtually no shutter lag (0.05 secs), and a high speed continuous shooting of 7.0 frames per second (up to approximately 28 frames).

It shoots full HD video (1920 x 1080) of up to 60 frames per second, and offers 10 creative shooting modes including Toy Camera, Miniature, Dynamic Tone, Pop Colour, Soft Focus, High Key, Low Key and Partial Colour.

Accessories available for the Fujifilm X-E2 includes a leather case, Fujinon XF and XC lenses, M Mount Adapter, Hand Grip, three dedicated flash models (EF-X20, EF-20, EF-42), Protector filters and Remote release.
