Gary Shapiro, the president/CEO of CEA, said total attendance by the end of day two was 112,515, higher than the 98,495 at the end of day two in 2009. Despite this several exhibitors had pulled out of the 2010 show with hundreds of small Asian manufacturers being offered space at the 2010 event.
The two-day total already surpasses the 110,000 attendance figure CEA, producer and owner of International CES, was using prior to the show to estimate the expected attendance. Audited attendance for the 2009 show was 113,085.
Several exhibitors that have traditionally taken space on the show floor chose to take suites or rooms at either the Hilton, Venetian Hotels or nearby hotels in an effort to cut costs.
Usually CEA releases its final audited numbers on CES attendance in March.
