House Of Marley Stands Out At CES 2014

By David Richards | Sunday | 19/01/2014

One of the really hot brands at CES 2014 was the House Of Marley with some of the biggest names in Hip Hop and Reggae music turning up at their stand to admire the latest on offer from a Company that goes out of its way to manufacture eco friendly products.

While other stands tried to look cool the House of Marley stand was cool according to some of the biggest names in music who appeared to be impressed by not only the products on show but the look and feel of the bags, headphones and other gear which is set to show up in Australian stores this year.

the House of Marley stand had a very different feel about it and an atmosphere that was more about hanging out than a retail spruiking stand.

It was definatly a case of  "come, touch, listen, feel, and be relaxed."

Among the products on show was the Liberate XL Bluetooth Wireless Over-Ear Headphones which won a Best of Show Award

The Company which is run by Rohan Marley the son of  of Reggie Legend Bob Marley said that their new over ear headphones deliver  "Signature Sound" and pour out all the energy, emotion and detail of every recording, they also include a unique Rewind eco-fabric and leather headband, soft leather ear cushions, and the Companies signature Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified, sustainably sourced wood which looked quite different from other headphones we saw at the CES Show.

The Liberate XL Bluetooth Wireless Over-Ear Headphones which will be on sale at JB Hi Fi shortly are the first wireless headphones from the House of Marley. Company executives said that every design detail, engineering element, and material selection is crafted for unparalleled performance and style that resonates deep into your soul.

Advanced Bluetooth AAC and APTX encoding allows an even more premium listening experience with compatible devices, backed up by 50mm dynamic moving coil drivers for serious sound. House of Marley's exclusive

What is impressive about the House Marley is that they actually  go out of their way to design products that are eco friendly and green.

I met up with Rohan Marley in the Samsung Smart Lounge at CES 2014 where he spoke about the birth of the Marley Coffee Company.

He claims that consumer electronic products have to be a "lot more than just aesthetics," he says. "It's about functionality, the purpose of it, and really having that quality and sound."

He adds, "And with sustainable and using eco-friendly materials, we've also captured our space." He says that his brand's identity is rooted in his father Bob Marley's values. "One love. Peace. Unity. Working together for a better world."

He's also introduced new bluetooth technology and headphones for his products.

"Because we're about the lifestyle," Marley says. "What we have is an extension of expression ... We keep that relationship with our people, our father's fans." He adds, "My father has a movement that started before us. As his children, we are just the stewards to build on his foundation."

As for starting Marley Coffee, he notes that he found a farm in Jamaica and found out that there was coffee on the land. From there, he took the time to build his own company, using a one-on-one approach and building upon his business and lifestyle philosophy.
