Samsung Tipped To Show New Galaxy S5 + Tab 3 Lite At CES 2014

By David Richards | Tuesday | 17/12/2013

Samsung who often delivers one of the big star attractions at CES is tipped to show a new Galaxy S5 alongside a Galaxy Tab 3 Lite.

Speculation is mounting that Samsung is preparing to show its new high-end smartphone at the US event as opposed to the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona

What Samsung has confirmed is that we will see see the first over 1080p resolution phone at Mobile World Congress with the release of their first QHD device with a 2560?1440 resolution display screen.

According to Samsung sources the ultra HD screened phone will also feature an iris verification system that scans user's eyes as a security measure. The pairing of this retinal scanner and the ultra HD strongly suggests the phone in question is the long rumored Galaxy S5.

Sources also say that a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is set for release either  at the 2014CES show  or MWC events next year.

The device is tipped to be the cheapest device made by Samsung.

The tablet will pack almost the same specs as the original tablet but with trimmed features. The Galaxy Tab 3 will come in both 3G and Wi-Fi variants, according to Sam Mobile.

Moreover, the WiFi variant in cream white option will hit the market around second week of 2014. Samsung has plans to launch the device in 3G variant in third week of January, followed by the introduction of black color option.

Reports claimed that Samsung Galaxy S5 will pack 64-bit processor as Samsung and ARM confirmed that it will soon launch a 14nm 64-bit Exynos 6 CPU chips in 2014. Other features of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 are 16MP ISOCELL camera and 2,560 x 1,440 WQHD and 560 ppi resolution. The handset may also come with a long-lasting 4,000 mAh battery life.

It is still undetermined if Samsung Galaxy S5 will pack Android 4.4 Kitkat OS or the rumored combination of Tizen OS and Firefox OS. Reports added Samsung is engaging in a working relationship with the makers of the operating systems.
