Samsung Spins Wi-Fi Washer/Dryer

By Oonagh Reidy | Monday | 14/10/2013

Samsung launch first Wi-Fi enabled Washer/Dryer Combo in Oz

Turn you machine on, even when you're not at home. No, its not magic, its all thanks to Wi-Fi.

Samsung's new front loader (10kg washer/7kg dryer) lets you turn on, monitor and control the washing/drying cycle, remotely via a mobile app.

This means could have your clean clothes ready to wear as you get up for work, which is super handy.

Samsung's super Smart Control technology monitors the wash cycle time, sends notifications when a load is complete, and can even pause the machine's cycle.

Samsung have been looking to pushing connected home concept this year, with several WiFi ready appliances available including fridges, and air conditioning units.

Costing $2,899 (RRP), there's also optional in-home installation assistance for each machine purchased through a local retailer.

"The new Wi-Fi enabled washer dryer combo is our next step in developing a truly connected home for Australians. Consumers now have control of their washing - they can start, stop, pause and resume a load of washing from practically anywhere using a compatible smartphone or mobile device," said Philip Newton, Samsung Vice President of Consumer Electronics.

The new front loader  features Samsung's Air Wash system, airing clothes to reduce odours using mildly heated air without actually washing them - good for delicate items like a child's stuffed toy or winter clothing.

The washer dryer combo has 11  wash programs; 'My Cycle' saves a favourite cycle and recalls it with one touch of a button. There's also a 29 minute quick wash.

It is powered by a Digital Inverter Direct Drive motor with an 11 year parts replacement warranty.

The new combo is on sale now.
