The Idapt Universal Desktop Charger is as simple as it gets – users only need to choose the right tip (the package comes with six), dock the device, and the unit charges it automatically. The package comes with six different tips designed for
Nokia,
Sony Ericsson, and
Samsung phones,
Nintendo DS Lite handheld, mini-USB devices, and iPod.
If you have a device that cannot be charged with the current tips, fear not – the company claims that they will be continuously developing and releasing tips for ‘never-ending compatibility.' Extra tips will cost $15 - $19 depending on which model you are after.
Depending on the model that you end up purchasing, you can either charge two or three gadgets at any given time. While we were able to charge our iPod and iPhone using the ‘iPod' tip, a navigation device via its ‘miniUSB' tip, and a Samsung phone using the ‘Samsung 2' tip, we were unable to charge our Nokia N95 8GB edition using the ‘Nokia 2' tip despite repeated attempts to plug it in.
