  Samsung Trumps Apple With New AMOLED Galaxy Note

Samsung has used the European market to unveil a new 5.3 inch AMOLED Smartphone called the Galaxy Note. The new Android phone applies a blowtorch to Apple who is expected to launch a new phone shortly.

Revealed at IFA 2011 the European equivalent of the CES Show the new phone comes with an "advanced" stylus called the S Pen and is now being labelled the world's most powerful Smartphone.

Under the bonnet is a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, which powers content to a 5.3-inch WXGA resolution (1280x800) display screen.

Other goodies include a rear 8MP camera complete with LED flash, full HD video recording capability, and a 2MP camera on the front for video calls.

On top of this the device is wafer thin at just 9.65mm thick.

That S Pen uses the Galaxy Note's touchscreen allowing users to draw pressure-sensitive sketches and accurate handwritten notes. It also has Chat On instant messaging. It allows users to draw and send handwritten images and notes.

The phone is expected to be released in Australia shortly. It will work on Telstra's Next G network and their new LTE 4G networks which are set to be rolled out shortly.
